The inaugural Walk a Mile in Her Shoes – Green Bay is scheduled for April 20, and it’s a walk that participants won’t soon forget. All male participants are encouraged to borrow a pair of man-sized high heels from the event organizers to literally walk one mile in the shoes of a woman, while female participants can take a break from their heels to enjoy the comfort of their own walking shoes.
Proceeds from the walk will directly benefit the Brown County Community Coordinated Response Team (CCR), a team formed by Family Services, local law enforcement, Golden House and several other community organizations to raise awareness and combat domestic violence and sexual assault in Brown County.
Registration for the walk is online at www.walkamilegb.com and there is a $20 registration fee/donation per individual. More information is also available by liking Walk a Mile in Her Shoes – Green Bay on Facebook or following @walkamilegb on Twitter.
